Acrylic Pouring Fun

The kids had last Friday off, so we decided to get artsy with some acrylic paints and Floetrol.

I spent a good bit of time going down a few rabbit holes on Youtube – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PrrYSjzTlac&t=753s https://acrylicpouring.com/acrylic-pouring-floetrol-recipe-included/, and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2FiEvtWH6RA. I had the boys watch the last one to give them some inspiration. The basic recipe that we followed a bit loosely was:

0.4 oz Floetrol (Lowes has a large bottle for like $7)

0.2 oz acrylic paint

Stir together

Add 0.2 oz Filtered water and 5-10 drops silicone (also from the hardware store)

And, yes, I took out the scale : ) We premixed a bunch of different colors and layered the different colors into cups. We took turns with different approaches, but overall it was a lot of fun and I would highly recommend it!
