Ball Food!

It all started with a blog post on one of my favorite blogs, 100 Day of Real Food.  She had this recipe for Ebelskivers, which are apple filled pancakes.  The recipe sounded great but I was even more intrigued by the pan.   I then looked on Amazon for a pan to purchase and, in my research, I saw that the pan was also useful for making Japanese dashi dough balls stuffed with octopus.  That was enough for me to justify the purchase of the ball pan – I could do sweet and savory!  Here is a look at the pan:

It turns out you can turn best with chopsticks.  We have tried the following recipes:

Blueberry stuffed pancakes using this waffle recipe

Falafel

Smoked Gouda Crumpet Balls

Egg Omelet Balls

and much more

They might seem like a one trick wonder, but they make food so much fun!!
